Producers: Gary Hoffman Neal Israel Henry Colman
Writer: Mark Stein
Director: Anson Williams

When Marsha (Teri Garr) and her husband Ross (Robert Urich) move to the suburbs, they didn't expect more than barbecues and Little League — until Marsha overhears a bizarre plot on her baby's intercom. It becomes a real whodunit when Marsha hears that Don and Judy are planning a murder, since those are the two most popular names in this town! The police detective (Alex Rocco) doesn't buy Marsha's story, so she goes undercover as a detective — keeping her eye on the dizzying number of suspects (Jeffrey Tambor, Susan Ruttan, Florence Stanley, Tom Poston, Gail Edwards, Charles Taylor) who fit her clues. Everyone is a suspect but no one's quite as busy as Marsha — especially when the would-be murderer set his sights on her!

Internet Question:

When was A Perfect Little Murder released? My daughter rented it years ago from Blockbuster but I never remember it being in theaters. Luved you as Dot in It's a Liv -- but my real question is (nothing against tv), why not more movies?!

Nicole Y., New York, NY

“Perfect Little Murder” was a Movie of the Week, but due to its large star appeal, they released it as a video rental.

As to your “more movies” question, it's different now, but when I came to Hollywood in the late 70's, an actor was told to choose between TV or movies. Movies didn't want “TV personalities” and television couldn't afford film stars. I was with management that felt if you hit a successful series, it was an easier jump to movies. A point well taken, but I never made the jump cause my series-regular or recurring roles kept me contently employed; hence, why fix what worked. A sticky wicket, as the saying goes...

Thanks for your question, Nicole
