Kenyon:
Steven Spielberg was given a two-year commitment by NBC to create television
and it never really caught on, but Amazing Stories, I think,
was a great body of work and those little films that he and his colleagues
made for that NBC series are going to be seen for generations to come.
Some of them are really excellent. You were in the very first. Tell us
how that came about?

Edwards:
Actually, Steven offered me that part. I was at a Fourth of July party
on a beach at Gary Goldberg's home near where Steven had a home. We were
all singing around the campfire and Steven, who's a big Disney fan, was
there while I sang, When You Wish Upon a Star. Gary told me
later that Steven was very moved" and I thought, gee, that's
nice. I never thought it would go any further. Then out of nowhere, I
get this call to meet with him in which he said, I saw you on Brothers
and thought you were wonderful. He said Sizzler when
I walked in the door and, of course, I wanted to crumple into a little
pool like, oh no, you recognize me from Sizzler?

Kenyon:
[Laughs] A reference to your Sizzler commercial

Edwards:
Yes. My Sizzler commercial then Brothers, and then he said,
Are you interested in doing this part? Of course, I wanted
to say, Do you want me to stand on my head? I mean, you're Steven
SpielbergI want to work with you. And I did for two weeks.
He was so nice. He invited us to Amblin everyday for lunch and to see
the dailies.

Kenyon:
That's his headquarters on the Universal Studios lot.

Edwards:
Yes. Beautiful, Santa Fe style. It was a wonderful experience that was
offered to me, and it was one of those, I will always take it with
me type of things.
